Having been introduced to the world of dance from an early age, Ashley loved performing. She was part of a dance group (the Caribees) that her mother and godmother directed and even though she was quite young and judged herself to be a poor dancer at the time, rehearsals and dancing were the highlights of Ashley’s early life. So great was Ashley’s love for dance that even when she got sick, she still wanted to be in an environment of dance. When she realized that there was no dance team in her high school, Ashley rallied all the support she could get and created a dance team for her high school. The art space was Ashley’s haven.
