Ashley is a second-generation immigrant who was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. Ashley’s grandparents migrated from Trinidad and Tobago in the early 1960’s as economic migrants and settled in Calgary, Alberta. Ashley’s dance career began in Calgary, with her earliest influences being her family who introduced her to Caribbean music and dance. Ashley featured prominently in the Calgary dance scene from her childhood until 2011, when she relocated to Toronto to continue her dance career. Outside of Canada, Ashley has also performed in the United States, Europe and West Africa.
